Fundraising Focus – March 2025

The team at ME Research UK is very grateful for all the support which the charity receives from its active fundraisers. At the best of times fundraising can seem a daunting prospect but without your support we could not continue to inform, influence or invest in ME research globally. Our current projects simply would not be funded.

Feel inspired? Our Fundraising Guide gives tips and links to resources to get your support off to a flying start.

If fundraising, it is worthwhile to check with your employer to see if they offer a Matched Funding scheme which will add to your fundraising pot.

If you know of any other fundraising opportunities offered by companies – contact us.

Samantha Currie and Caroline Friel will be taking part in the Edinburgh KiltWalk on 14th September 2025 in aid of ME Research UK. Team Sam and Taz have opted for the 20 mile Big Stride though Scotland’s capital and so will not have time to take in the views!

Christine Marshall will be running in the adidas Manchester Marathon in aid of ME Research UK’s Research Fund on 27th April 2025. It is the UK’s second largest marathon with over 36,000 runners taking part in this year’s event.
Christine has a family reason to support our work and as she says “Please help me raise money towards important research!”

Many thanks to the band members of ‘Jazz House’ for dedicating one of their weekly jazz event at CASA (Grand Arcade, Leeds) as a fundraising event for ME Research UK. Held on 26th of February, it was enjoyed by all as part of the regular jazz jams and monthly specials nights.
