Fundraising Focus – February 2022

The team at ME Research UK is very grateful for all the support which the charity receives from its active fundraisers. At the best of times fundraising can seem a daunting prospect but without your support we could not continue to inform, influence or invest in ME research globally. Our current projects simply would not be funded.

Feel inspired? Our Fundraising Guide gives tips and links to resourses to get your support off to a flying start.

If fundraising, it is worthwhile to check with your employer to see if they offer a Matched Funding scheme which will add to your fundraising pot. Also, some companies, like Persimmon, donate to worthy causes based on recommendations of fundraisers and so why not nominate ME Research UK?

If you know of any other fundraising opportunities offered by companies – contact us.

As part of Walk for ME, during the month of May, the team will be running, walking, cycling and swimming as many miles as they can! (Mega miles!) in a joint team effort to raise awareness and raise vital funds for research into ME/CFS – one of the most devastating, life changing, underfunded, misunderstood and mistreated health conditions of this century. They are a team of parents, friends and family members of some amazing young people living with ME/CFS.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Walk for ME initiative has launched its 2022 Team page (https://bit.ly/3qSLiP6). The idea behind Walk for ME is that friends and family of a person affected by M.E. do a sponsored walk on their behalf. Although in recent years people have also done runs, swims and rides so you can do any event you wish! Spead the word and, thanks to a Walk for ME supporter, the first 10 people to sign up will receive a £10 fundraising boost!
