Following an open competition to choose a runner to fill ME Research UK’s guaranteed charity place in the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon, supporter Tom Whittingham has been picked to wear bib number 55102.
The Virgin Money London Marathon is the largest annual fundraising event on the planet – runners have raised over £750 million for good causes since the race began in 1981.
On being informed of his success, Tom said, “I am so thrilled that I have been picked … I have wanted to run the London marathon ever since I was a little boy, and it will be a true honour to represent ME Research UK.”
Every mile Tom runs on 23rd April 2017 and every penny he raises will mean that ME Research UK can continue to fund research worldwide.
