We are so grateful to every single person who chooses to fundraise in aid of ME Research UK. It is only because of their support that we can continue to inform, influence, and invest in biomedical research into ME/CFS globally.
Without them, our current projects simply would not be funded.
Each month, Fundraising Focus is our way of saying thank you and celebrate the people behind the fundraising. This includes fundraisers started in September. If your fundraiser began in October, we will make sure to highlight you in our next post.
Alex is fundraising in aid of ME Research UK by “walking 2,000 steps a day for a month to get to 46,000 steps, which is equivalent to the height of Mount Kilimanjaro”.
Thank you so much, Alex – it means the world to us. Happy stepping.
Alex is chronicling their journey on Facebook, and you can follow them by clicking on this link.
Ollie Goddard is fundraising in aid of ME Research UK by participating in the Run South London event in March 2027.
The event is a new closed-road 13.1-mile route through South London’s parks, streets, and iconic landmarks.
Thank you so much, Ollie – and good luck with your training.
Fiona Crisp is fundraising in aid of ME Research UK with her initiative, “Me time for ME”.
“It has been heart-breaking to see the impact of M.E. on my daughter Alisa’s life.
“Please take one hour out of your busy schedule just to lie down. You can read, listen to music or just rest. Then imagine having to do that for 22 hours a day because you don’t have the energy to do any of the myriad of things you would like to be doing.”
Thank you, Fiona – and please give your daughter our best wishes.
Faye Dobbin is fundraising in aid of ME Research UK by participating in the Altra Yorkshire Marathon on October 18.
The event starts at the University of York and continues outside the city’s walls and into the beautiful countryside, before then looping back towards the city.
Thank you so much, Faye – and good luck.
ME Foggy Dog is a social enterprise that supports ME Research UK through “BED for Severe M.E”.
It is their “annual awareness day on October 29” that is dedicated to the “estimated 25 % of people with M.E. who are severely affected and often bedbound or housebound”.
Thank you, ME Foggy Dog – awareness is incredibly important in our fight to advance ME/CFS research.
