Fundraising Focus – December 2023

The team at ME Research UK is very grateful for all the support which the charity receives from its active fundraisers. At the best of times fundraising can seem a daunting prospect but without your support we could not continue to inform, influence or invest in ME research globally. Our current projects simply would not be funded.

Feel inspired? Our Fundraising Guide gives tips and links to resourses to get your support off to a flying start.

If fundraising, it is worthwhile to check with your employer to see if they offer a Matched Funding scheme which will add to your fundraising pot.

If you know of any other fundraising opportunities offered by companies ā€“ contact us.

Abigail Thornton is fundraising for ME Research UK with her Christmas fundraisier.
Many thanks to to Abigail for thinking of our work at this time of the year.

Hoping to take 10,000 steps a day for a month, Lisa Muir has set herself a challenging task.

If one considers it, over 31 days, it will amount to 310,000 steps and we wish Lisa best of luck with her fundraising.

One notable fundraising page closing in December is that pertaining to the Celtic Wiseman Perpetual – a series of gruelling routes for experienced amateur and professional road cyclists. The original 2020 Celtic Wiseman (Kernow) was established in Cornwall, and now includes Cymru, Ulster, Alba. Isle of Man, and Brittany routes. Team members Richard Davies, Aled Edwards, Paul Magee and James Partington have raised an astonishing cĀ£30,000 for ME research over this time and ME Research UK is deeply indebted to them for their efforts.
