We are so grateful to every single person who chooses to fundraise in aid of ME Research UK. It is only because of their support that we can continue to inform, influence, and invest in biomedical research into ME/CFS globally.
Without them, our current projects simply would not be funded.
Each month, Fundraising Focus is our way of saying thank you and celebrate the people behind the fundraising.
Marbeth Nicholl and her husband are walking five miles in May.
She says: “Our daughter was diagnosed with M.E. in August 2019. We have chosen to fundraise for ME Research UK because it is a charity that funds high quality biomedical studies into the causes of and treatment for M.E.”
Thank you so much, Marbeth – best wishes to you and your family.
Christine Marshall is participating in the Adidas Manchester Marathon 2026.
The run takes place on April 19. It includes 42,000 participants on an unforgettable journey finishing outside The University of Manchester.
Thank you so much, Christine – and best of luck with the run.
Joanna Withers is doing a walk from Wookey to The Bishops Palace in Wells and back again.
Joanna says: “My Husband has CFS/ME and to be honest, seeing that there is actually a group trying to raise money for research is AMAZING! We can feel so isolated at times. I want to try and raise more awareness for this crippling condition!”
Thank you so much, Joanna – and best wishes to your husband and you both.
Lily Jones is cycling to raise funds for ME/CFS research.
She says: “I’m raising money because my mother is the most courageous and strong woman I know on this planet. It’s heartbreaking to see her struggle with an illness. But she has never stopped fighting for herself or other people.”
Thank you so much, Lily. We wish you and your mother the very best.
