The TCS London Marathon is acknowledged as one of the biggest, best and most well-known running events in the world – attracting both professional and amateur runners, and raising awareness and funds for a variety of good causes.
The ballot for the 2026 Marathon closed on 2nd May, with a reported 1,133,813 people entering. This represents a 36% increase on the previous world record of 840,318, set a year ago , and almost double that (578,304) for the 2024 event. The results in the 2 part ballot will be announced by end of June 2025.
With so many entries, the chance of being successful in the main ballot are (realistically) slight – 20,000 places, so only 1 in 52 entrants will be fortunate enough to run.
That is why a better route to achieve a lifetime’s ambition could be a charity place.
ME Research UK has one place to allocate to the person we feel is best placed to take advantage of the fund- and awareness-raising opportunity. We need to allocate this by 16:00 on Thursday 19 March 2026.
Why not contact us to register your interest and we will email you when our allocation process goes live?
