Kiltwalk is a unique charity that enables walkers to raise money for any Scottish charity and, as ME Research UK is based in Perth, we are eligible to participate but we need your help.
Thanks to Sir Tom Hunter and the Hunter Foundation every pound raised gains a top-up of 40p. That means for every £100, we will receive £140 in total which can be used to support of work.
There are 4 Kiltwalks planned for 2019 throughout Scotland on 4 different dates. Registration and an entrance fee is required through the Kiltwalk website.
With 3 distances to walk from the Wee Wander at 6 miles all the way to the 26 mile Mighty Stroll there will be a distance to suit. It is not a race and so you can walk at your own pace. Neither will you be alone as not only will your fellow walkers be with you every step of the way but pit stop supporters will be on hand to supply you with water, snacks, entertainment, top class conversation and encouragement across the entire Kiltwalk route. You can walk as an individual or part of a team – a great idea to get workmates and friends involved in fundraising for ME Research UK.
Kiltwalk will even provide a pack filled with all the information you need before you set off on your Kiltwalk event, this includes: an ID card, a walker guide, a route map and two meal vouchers, if you have selected a Mighty Stride, other walks receive one meal voucher. Plus, there are specific sponsorship forms for each Kiltwalk locality (Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh (details on how to send forms to Kiltwalk and payment details are on Kiltwalk’s FAQs section) and a host of on-line resources to help with training and practical details for the day.
In addition to using Kiltwalk’s dedicated sponsorship forms, supporters can fundraise online through any platform – Virgin Money Giving, JustGiving or any other reputable online fundraising site – but supporters must select ‘The Kiltwalk’ as their chosen charity. This ensures the sponsorship will be eligible for the 40% boost.
We’ll help as much as we can with fundraising – free t-shirt and publicity – so go on, put your best fundraising foot forward and Kiltwalk in 2019.
