The team at ME Research UK is very grateful for all the support which the charity receives from its active fundraisers. At the best of times fundraising can seem a daunting prospect but without your support we could not continue to inform, influence or invest in ME research globally. Our current projects simply would not be funded.
Feel inspired? Our Fundraising Guide gives tips and links to resourses to get your support off to a flying start.
If fundraising, it is worthwhile to check with your employer to see if they offer a Matched Funding scheme which will add to your fundraising pot.
If you know of any other fundraising opportunities offered by companies – contact us.
Will McCausland, Tom Gilbertson & Joe Welton have set themselves a hugely challenging fundraising challenge in aid of ME Research UK. From 26 August to 2 September 2022 they will be swimming the full length of every swimmable Lake in the Lake District – 7 days, 66km across 13 Lakes (the largest of which is 18km at Windermere).
We extend thanks to the following whose fundraising pages have closed this month –
As part of Walk for ME 2022 Adam Flello and team walking either 11 or 20 miles across Cannock Chase on Saturday 14 May. To Adam, Daniel Flello, Louis Snazle & Brian Cutler, and to Wendy & Michael Flello we extend our gratitude for your support. As Adam wrote “We hope to help raise awareness of ME, raise some money in aid of ME research, and to remind ourselves never to take a walk in the woods for granted.”
Scott Buchanan aka Running Buchanan undertook the Marathon du Mont Blanc in aid of ME Research UK on 26 June 2022. The marathon event is a 42km run through the alps with a 2730m altitude. Scott was running so people would “recognise that this is a unique condition which could do with more investment & support to learn and identify routes to solutions for others. “
