Introducing our new CEO – Simon Phillips

Simon Phillips – ME Research UK’s CEO

ME Research UK Board of Charity Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Phillips as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the charity.

Simon comes to us with a wealth of charity sector experience that complements our existing team.  We are all looking forward to working with him and the team to build on our position as the UK’s leading charity funding biomedical research into ME.

Simon adds, “I am extremely proud to have been appointed to this position and I very much look forward to helping the organisation deliver its mission of energising ME research.

The charity has a track record of providing significant funding for biomedical research into the condition known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), with acknowledgement as a funder in more than 80 scientific research papers.  My role as CEO will be to help maintain and, indeed build on, this research tradition and to explore various funding opportunities for a broad and diverse range of researchers whilst ensuring that we only make awards for research into the cause and treatment of ME.”
