Want to run in the 2026 tcs London Marathon?

The TCS London Marathon is one of the biggest, best and most well-known running events in the world – attracting both professional and amateur runners, and raising awareness and money for a variety of good causes.

The ballot for the 2026 Marathon closed on 2nd May, and if you weren’t fortunate enough to be selected for next year’s race then we’ve got good news! ME Research UK is offering one lucky supporter the opportunity to take part.

Results of the ballot began being sent out on 19th June and all should receive notification by 23rd June.

With so many entries, the chance of being successful in the main ballot were slim – 20,000 places, so only 1 in 52 entrants were fortunate enough to be chosen.

Not all is lost for those wishing to participate.

ME Research UK has been allocated a guaranteed place for the race on 26th April 2026. If you would like to take part and run for ME Research UK in 2026, please complete and return our application form by 18th July 2025 and we aim to let people know of the allocation by 31st July 2025.

We will review the details and choose the person we think will be best placed to raise the most funds, or highest level of awareness of the need for research into ME. The successful applicant will be asked for a £100 application fee – to part offset the cost of the place we’ve secured – and to aim to raise at least £1,500 for us.

We will help as much as we can, with a free t-shirt, running vest, information material and mentions in our social media. Guaranteed places are highly prized, so please get your application in early.
