Fundraising Focus – October 2025

All of us at ME Research UK are so very grateful for the support the charity receives from its fundraisers. It is only because of your support that we can continue to inform, influence, and invest in ME/CFS research globally. Without you, our current projects simply would not be funded.

So – join us as we thank all of our amazing fundraisers. And, if you feel inspired, why not look at our Fundraising Guide which gives tips and links to start your own project?

Jemima and Helena will be running the Oxford Half Marathon on October 12 to raise money in aid of ME Research UK!

They say: “Every donation, no matter the size, will help ME Research UK continue their ground-breaking work and bring hope to those affected. We’d be so grateful for your support.”

Thank you, Jemima and Helena.

Lucas Heyburn-Sheerin is part of a group of four who are currently fundraising for ME, and have been for almost a year now.

“Our best friend Maddie has severe ME, she has been bedbound since January 2023 and she can barely tolerate light, including from her phone. We want to include her and honour her.”

Lucas is running the 2026 Brighton Marathon in aid of ME Research UK – thank you so much, Lucas.

Chloe Davies is running the 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of ME Research UK.

The Cardiff Half Marathon has grown into one of the largest and most exciting road races in the United Kingdom. It is now one of Europe’s largest half marathons and is Wales’ largest mass participation event.

Thank you so much, Chloe.

Richard Heywood is back – and this time he’s participating in 2026 Great North Run!

“My wife Rachel suffers from ME so I feel it is important to support her and ME Research to try and find a cure.”

Thank you so much, Richard, for your continued fundraising. Words are not enough.
