Fundraising Focus – January 2026

We are so grateful to every single person who chooses to fundraise in aid of ME Research UK. It is only because of their support that we can continue to inform, influence, and invest in biomedical research into ME/CFS globally.

Without them, our current projects simply would not be funded.

Each month, Fundraising Focus is our way of saying thank you. It’s a chance to celebrate the people behind the fundraising and to share the incredible impact they are making.

Thank you all – thank you.

Connie and Rosey will be running the 2026 London Landmarks Half Marathon.

“Please help us to help our dear friend, Maddie, who is 21 and has severe ME. Severe ME leaves sufferers, like Maddie, bedbound often in the dark for months or years.”

Thank you so much, Connie and Rosey. We wish Maddie the best.

Joe Beeby and Vicky Robertson are getting married and are celebrating by raising funds in aid of ME Research UK.

Congratulations to both you – thank you so much for this incredible initiative.

Virginia Haydon has made 12 Christmas dips in aid of ME Research UK.

“The lake water has already dropped to 5*C. But I’m really motivated to fundraise for research into ME/CFS, a little understood condition that can have such a big impact on so many people’s lives – including my family’s.”

That is incredible – thank you so much, Virginia.

Shirley Whitfield is running both the London and Manchester marathons in aid of ME Research UK.

“Someone close to our family, a young person with their whole future ahead of them has recently been affected by ME. Seeing how suddenly life can change, and how hard it is to get clear answers or support, has opened my eyes to how vital research is.”

Thank you so much, Shirley. That is incredible.

James and Trisha Montague are participating in the 2026 Edinburgh KiltWalk in aid of ME Research UK.

By walking in support of ME Research UK, they raise awareness and spread hope.

Thank you so much, both of you.
