A randomised control trial found that bright light therapy is not an effective treatment for fatigue in ME/CFS “but it might have beneficial effects on attention.” Bright light therapy is used to manage conditions such as seasonal affective disorder, circadian rhythm disorders and sleep disorders, such as insomnia. It typically involves exposure to an artificial light source that mimics natural sunlight; however, this could pose challenges for individuals with light sensitivity. Study participants underwent 2 weeks of light therapy.
