Blue Sunday – The Tea Party for M.E. – thank you

A heartfelt thank you to Anna Redshaw for organising Blue Sunday – “The Tea Party for M.E.” and to everyone who donated to or fundraised on behalf of ME Research UK. Additionally, a big thank you to Isaac for organising and hosting “Blue Sunday – Tea Party for ME – The Concert” in aid of ME Research UK and Smile for ME. All donations will go towards biomedical research into ME/CFS.

Anna Redshaw’s ‘Blue Sunday’ Tea Party for M.E., benefiting various charities including ME Research UK, was held this year on Sunday, May 19th. Since its inception in 2013, the initiative has raised over £100,000 for charities, with this year’s running total surpassing £20,000. People across the globe participated in Blue Sunday, increasing awareness of ME/CFS.

In a recent post, Anna expressed, “I never understood why we weren’t included more in fundraising events for ME/CFS so I am so glad that so many of us now have Blue Sunday; something to put on our calendars that isn’t a medical appointment or benefit assessment. Something we don’t have to leave our beds for, particularly when that is often impossible.”

Isaac’s ‘Blue Sunday – Tea Party for ME – The Concert,’ was the perfect accompaniment to Blue Sunday tea parties. The virtual concert, featuring 15 songs and lasting just over 50 minutes, was introduced by Isaac and included a performance by Isaac himself. Also included was a previous performance by his sister, Eliana, before she became ill with Severe M.E.

We look forward to many more Tea Parties for M.E. in the future!
