We are so grateful to every single person who chooses to fundraise in aid of ME Research UK. It is only because of their support that we can continue to inform, influence, and invest in biomedical research into ME/CFS globally.
Without them, our current projects simply would not be funded.
Each month, Fundraising Focus is our way of saying thank you and celebrate the people behind the fundraising.
Charlotte McDowell is doing a sponsored walk in May in recognition of ME Awareness Month.
She says: “This is for one of my best friends whom it breaks my heart to see each day in pain!”
Thank you so much, Charlotte.
Jennie Phillpot is challenging herself to walk 10 minutes a day for six weeks as part of Team Walk for ME 2026.
She says: “Since being diagnosed with ME / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, even gentle daily movement can be a real challenge. This is about more than exercise — it’s about rebuilding trust with my body.”
Thank you so much, Jennie.
Finch Read is participating in Team Walk for ME 2026.
Thank you so much, Finch – and good luck.
Lisa Barrat is doing 10,000 steps a day for 30 days.
Thank you so much, Lisa, that is such a lovely thing to do.

Joe Welton is running the London Marathon in April.
“My sister lives with severe ME and is now bedbound, and I’ve seen firsthand how this illness strips away independence and reshapes entire families’ lives. As a trustee of the charity, I’m committed to raising awareness and supporting rigorous biomedical research.”
Thank you so much, Joe.

Buxton Jigsaw Library is putting pieces together for ME research.
The project works like this: “Borrow a puzzle. Enjoy it. Return it. Help fund vital ME Research.”
That is such a great idea – thank you so much.
